Dean F Thomas is an award winning oil painter residing in Bucks County for more than sixteen years. He has been a professional artist since graduating from Rowan University in 1983. Did you know that Dean is an award winning printmaker as well? The artist graduated as a printmaking major and won several awards in the state of New Jersey early in his professional career before moving to Bucks County in 1995. Mr. Thomas has recently rediscovered his love of printmaking and has begun to exhibit them alongside his oil paintings of the Delaware Valley. Most noteworthy, the James A Michener Art Museum selected one of Dean’s engravings for the 2010 exhibition commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. Dean’s dry point engraving entitled “Friends” was exhibited in the Pfundt Gallery alongside works by several other notable members of the sketch club both past and present. Dean was in good company with artists such as Walter Baum, Arthur Meltzer and Joseph Pearson.
